In 2008 Vilnius Tourist Information Centre was visited by a record number of tourists

In 2008 four Vilnius Tourist Information Centres (VTIC) were visited by 50 352 tourists. This is the largest number of visitors throughout the entire time of the activity of VTIC. A considerable increase in the number of tourists was observed in the year 2004, and then the number of tourists amounted to a little more than 46 000 people.

Recently the number of visitors in Vilnius Tourism Information Centres has been constantly on the increase. In 2008 the number of visitors increased by as much as 10.3 % as compared with that in 2007.

May – September saw the largest number of tourists (32 403 visitors). The number of tourists who visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centres during those months totalled more than half a number of the whole year. The smallest number of tourists visiting the Centres was registered in January (2070).

Most tourists come from Poland (7044), Germany (6923), Finland (3698), France (2984), Russia (2900), Spain (2507), Italy (1970), Great Britain (1866), the USA (1082), Sweden (493).

In 2008 Vilnius Tourist Information Centre located in Town Hall Square was the most frequented one of all the four Centres (25 778 visitors). The greatest number of tourists visited this Centre in July and August.
