hotel portfolio with a new location – the Mercure Riga Centre.
Reklāma
On May 1, 2014, the 4-star Mercure Riga Centre joined
the Mercure brand and became the first hotel to represent this brand in Latvia.
The hotel operates on the basis of a franchise agreement signed with Orbis
Hotel Group, based in Warsaw, Poland – master franchisor of Accor’s brands for
the region of Baltic Countries.
“Accor - the nr 1 European hotel
operator, through its partnership with Orbis is pursuing its robust development
in Poland and in the Baltic States.
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia
are offering promising prospects and we certainly intend to reinforce our
presence on that market. The Mercure Riga
Centre in Latvia is a splendid hotel.” – adds Laurent Picheral, CEO of Orbis.
For Business and Leisure
The Mercure Riga Centre is
located in the very heart of Riga, in the vicinity of the city’s numerous old
town landmarks. The Hotel is housed in a historic Art Nouveau building dating
back to the year1901. The hotel is a mere 15-minute drive from the Riga
Airport (RIX), and within a 1-minute walking distance from the Riga Central
Station.
The Hotel offers 143 fully-equipped rooms, including 128 standard single and double
rooms. Guests may
also book 11 Privilege
rooms and 4 Junior
Suites.
The Mercure Riga Centre
has a modern conference center consisting of 6
meeting rooms
which may accommodate up to 100 persons. All the rooms are equipped with professional audiovisual equipment, wireless Wi-Fi, projectors
and podiums. Upon request of international events’ organizers, the
hotel also offers a simultaneous interpreting service.
“For us, affiliation with the Mercure
brand is a huge opportunity to benefit from the rich experience of Accor and
the Orbis Hotel Group. Thanks to the signed agreements, we have been granted
access to high-profile know‑how as well as state-of-the-art, tested booking
tools and full marketing, sales and operational support. I hope that the
hospitality market in Latvia will expand following our example and accommodate
successive brands from the Accor portfolio” – said Aigars Gerhards, General
Manager of the Mercure Riga Centre.
For a Big Appetite
The thematic-cuisine Traveller

served in stylish, air-conditioned rooms. During warm spring and summer months
guests can enjoy their meal on an open terrace. The Traveller Restaurant is a
good choice both for a family meal, business lunch as well as
a romantic dinner for two. The Mercure Riga Centre also has a Bar which
guarantees pleasant ambiance thanks to
an atmospheric music and a wide selection of drinks and snacks.
For Body and Mind
The
Hotel's Fitness Centre is a perfect place to relax and regenerate both
the body and mind after
a busy workday. Guests are offered a number of different treatments and
facilities including massage, jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath. During leisure time,
a babysitter,
which should be requested in advance, is
available to take care of children. The
property is fully accessible
for people with disabilities.
The Mercure Brand
The core fundamental of the Mercure brand is to remain in harmony with
people, tradition, history, culture and the distinctive features of the hotel’s
location. The network embraces more than 700 hotels in 50 countries. The brand
develops strongly based on a franchise model, also because hotels of the network are known for their
ability to skillfully draw upon the values of the local tradition and culture
and to proficiently combine modernity with the historic roots of the place. While
retaining the brand’s standards, the hotels are surprisingly individualistic. Their
strength lies in their three values: authenticity, curiosity and client
commitment. The
Mercure Riga Centre is the 22nd
hotel of this brand in the Orbis Hotel Group.
