Every year since 2003 Lithuanian State Department of Tourism at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania is organising a contest The Most Successful Tourism Project. It is the first and the most important evaluation of tourism projects in Lithuania.
The Most Successful Tourism Project contest is very popular among tourism industry‘s companies and every year more and more participants are attending it. This year the contest received a record breaking number of applications.
The most successful tourism projects were judged not only by the committee of tourism experts, but also by the people who voted online. Winners were selected according to the opinion of committee and all people who voted.
Award ceremony “The most successful tourism projects” took place at State Tourism Department under the Ministry of Economy on December 15, 2009. During the celebration providers of health, recreation and rural tourism services, tour operators, accommodation and catering companies, tourism information centers, infrastructure, non-commercial marketing and information dissemination projects were awarded in nine different categories. The event guests congratulated Vice-Minister of Economy of Lithuania Arnold Burkovskis and the Director of State Tourism Department Nijole Kliokienė.
Three the most successful tour operators were awarded during the event.
The first place was awarded to the company “Baltic Travel Group”.
Second place was given to Siauliai company “Kelioniu centras”.
Third place took the activities of the company “Lithuanian Tours”/ ELIT EVENTS BALTIC.
