The unique concert platform will be constructed on the beach in Jurmala

This summer a new concert platform – “Dzintari Sea Stage” („Dzintaru Jūras Estrāde”) – an open-air concert hall - will be built on the beach in Dzintari (Jurmala, Latvia). It will become an alternative venue to the existing stages in Latvia.

The hall, unique by its concept and location, will be constructed at the initiative of the company "Priority Production" and with the support of Jurmala City Council. It will be located in the most central place of Jurmala – on the beach in Dzintari, between the coastline and the beginning of Turaidas street, - only during two days – on July 22-23. Two big concerts will take place there those days. Dzintari Sea Stage will become the biggest concert hall ever existed in Jurmala.

Dzintari Sea Stage will have a well-developed infrastructure – for the convenience of the visitors the sandy beach will be covered by a wooden floor, the scene that will be located near the sea will be equipped with the advanced professional light, sound and video facilities. Up to 4500 people will be able to dance in the venue and, if necessary, the hall can be equipped by up to 3000 seating places. Such optimal capacity of the hall will allow to organize the concerts of more famous, world-wide popular artists there.

The unique location of the Stage will offer inhabitants and visitors of Jurmala to attend the concerts and at the same time to enjoy the most important treasure of the resort city - the beautiful Jurmala beach and a splendid view onto the sunset near the sea. By now, very few public events in Jurmala were organized on the beach. Being the epicentre of the cultural life of Latvia in summer, Jurmala hosts the biggest number of tourists in this period. It is one more reason to diversify the calendar of cultural events in the city. These days the weather usually is very good in Jurmala that favours the recreation and entertainment near the sea. Owing to the building of Dzintari Sea Stage, there will be a possibility to organise big concerts and music festivals with unusual concept.

For sure, the realisation of such a large-scale project requires great investment. In spite of the fact that this year the platform will be constructed only for two days, visitors of concerts when buying tickets for the concerts organized there, will vote for continuation and expansion of this project in the future. The organizers hope, that Dzintari Sea Stage will become a traditional summer concert venue in Jurmala.
